Long time no fog
I hate fog. Fog sucks. Perhaps it "fogging" sucks.So, we leave College Station for San Fran at 7:00am. Oh wait, did I say leave? Yeah, we sat on the ground until 9:35am, coincidentally that was at the same time as our connecting flight in Houston for San Fran. Apparently there was some fog in Houston preventing anyone from landing. There were at least 5 other regional jets bound for Houston that had to land at the College Station airport due to running out of fuel. Awesome, huh?
So, we get to Houston and are told where our connecting flight is (clear across the air port). Of course the fogging idiot told us bad information as our plane had already taken off. So, we go to the customer service people and let him know of our situation. He says the next flight to Oakland isn't until 9:45pm. But, there was a flight to San Fran at 2:40pm. So, we opted for that flight.
We walk around the airport and then realize our bags were still headed to Oakland. We head back to another customer service center to get our bags on the San Fran flight. They "find" my bag in the system, but can't find Bret's. So, we have to walk back to our original counter (which is clear across the airport now).
We get there and find his bag in the system and get it "moved" to our flight, which is still 4 hours or so away.
We go eat lunch and hang out in IAH. Fun times. Apparently if you're ever stuck in IAH for lunch, eat in the E-Terminal. They have Panda Express, Papasitos, etc... and they are NOT marked up. There's a little guarantee on the table stating that they don't charge more in this particular location.
We get on our delayed flight, and guess what? Yep, we're delayed and take off an hour late.
Well, I'm about to fall asleep...and to make a story short. Our bags didn't make it on our flight and are landing in Oakland as we speak. Maybe we'll have clothes tomorrow. Maybe not.
We did have a Harold and Kumar's moment this evening trying to get to In N' Out Burger. California is crazy.
So our total travel time? 13 hours. 7am CST - 6pm PST (8pm CST)
Awesome. So fogging awesome.
